Hi,

I could not get my clie T665C/G to hotsyn with my notebook. Keep getting the message "port used by another application". Can someone help? I have completely removed my previous palm m515 programme but still could not get it work.

What else might you have on the notebook that uses the ports? Do you have software to download pictures from a digital camera? This is just a shot in the dark but take a look in the sytem tray...lower right side of the desktop...and see what's running down there. You may have to turn something off to get the port back when ya want to hotsync. My old Olympus software has to be disabled on the workstation at work to snyc.

If that doesn't work, scream at the notebook. It's not really a technical kinda thing but you'll feel OH so much better.

:)

What kind of laptop do you use? I've seen this happen with Dell laptops. Still don't know the cause of it...

Two things to try...

1. Disable the ECP Printer Port (LPT1) in the Device Manager. NOTE: If you use a parallel device, this action will disable it.

2. Click on the HotSync icon in the System Tray. Click Setup. On the Local Tab, change COM1 to COM3 and click OK. Click Setup again and switch back to COM1. Try to sync.

If that still doesn't work, try a soft reset.

Good luck!
