All,
Does anyone know where to get the mobilepro "deluxe" case for less than $30? I'm looking for the cool one with the blue & black coloring--I believe it's model S1424-30A
I found one for $38 with like $15 shipping, which is INSANE for a small case (that's not leather, no less).
I'm just about to get a 48CD case & pull the sleeve holder out, but I thought I'd check here first!
Thanks,
Anthony

I'd like to know too. I've dropped my NEC more times than I like to think about. A good inexpensive case would be nice.

Drovar,
The cases are very hard to come by. If you go to www.pricewatch.com and search for mobilepro case or S1424-30A, you can find it for $38 + 15 shipping! (INSANE)
Or, I just bought a CD case--48 works for just the MP (make sure you get one with a slide-out liner), or you could get a "64" cd case to carry the MP & some accessories.
I got the 64, but I'm thinking that it's too big, so I'm going to return it and get a 48 case. Watch out for the ones with rings and "fixed" CD sleeves.
Good luck!

I picked up a Levenger small padded nylon laptop case for my Mobilepro 770. It fits perfectly side to side. Theres enough extra room at the top to toss in the AC adapter and a phone cable. Nice case. Comes in leather, too, but that was a bit much.

Thanks for your posts!
I did manage to find a case, or a few, actually. If you're searching for them, let me know.
I found a Targus case made specifically for the NEC 7XX line, and a guy is selling them on e-bay for 9.90 plus 6.00 shipping. I haven't received it yet, but will post a review of it when it arrives.
Also, if you jump to your local Wal-Mart store, they sell a rather nice little "CD Player" case that is by "Mainstays." It looks like a case for CDs (same size as the "64cd" case), but has a nice velcro strap, another strap on the other side (to hold small notebook, etc), some "webbed" pockets with elastic, and a zipper pocket on the outside. If you remove the actual CD holder portion, your MP7XX will fit perfectly under the velcro strap. That case was $14.95, but I passed on it b/c I found the Targus one on e-bay.
Also, almost any 48CD case with a removeable CD sleeve will work. They are the perfect size for the unit itself, and will prevent it from getting scratched if you put it in your briefcase or bookbag.
I'll post back when I get the case!
Thanks,
Anthony

For those of you who want a more sturdy case, Wal-Mart also sells an aluminum CD case that's the perfect size for the MP7xx line. It looks just like a small aluminum briefcase, and even has a little padding inside. I think it was $19, and would definitely protect your mobilepro well.

I received my case yesterday, and it's fantastic! He said it was made by targus, and it sure looks like it--It's their "leather-look" material, with the NEC brand logo on the outside & the inside. Very sturdy, 2 zippers for closure, outside pocket, inside large pocket, ID window, and places for stylus/pencil, vga cable, and credit/business cards. Excellent quality, and he said (and definitely looks) that its brand new.
He told me he has dozens of them left. Mine was 9.90 + 6.00 shipping, and it's easily worth 5X that much. GREAT CASE.
E-mail me if you'd like his e-mail to get one. I'll refer you so you can just buy outright (and not wait for an auction to close).

This is my first posting.
I'd felt so lost but I now have friends!
I bought mine on ebay 2 years ago, love it!!
Great dream diary; If only the keys lit up.
Accessories:
I'd bought a "NEC MOBILEPRO CARRYING CASE US$30.99" on ebay last year. It's dandy, but bulges out when I load it with spare battery, adaptor and int. phone jacks. I'll look into the cheaper alternatives you guys mention.
To make it more "mobile" I sewed a shoulder strap onto it.
I bought a Keyboard Skins for $14.95/ea [Fire-Rescue Products, 1-888-432-7393, 24-hour FAX: (802) 948-2015 sales@image911.com - or - image911@aol.com] to protect the keys.
For Screen protectors I cut out clear smooth hard plastic from overly-packaged Costo-type items. I cut 1/4"larger than the screen & ease it in. Works great/saves $.
Note - unit fits perfectly into a large Ziploc freezer bag - for use in a rain storm or on a tippy boat.
I'm posting a Q: address book elsewhere.
