I am trying to sync my palm m125 via the IR port on an IBM ThinkPad x23 but I keep getting an error message from the Hotsysc Manager indicating that it cannot access the IR port. I can sync OK via the cradle and I get a wireless link icon on my toolbar whenever my palm is within range but this only allows me to transfer files.
Any Ideas on what to do?

Most likely your think pad is running NT or 2000 right, well the IR method used by the hotsync is not supported by either NT or 2000. I found this out by trying to sync my dad's palm to his think pad and it wouldn't communicate. I went to the support in Windows and it told me NT and 2000 doesn't support the IR method used by palm.:( You aren't alone my friend!
Trinity, Thanks for your reply. I am indeed running Windows 2000. Is there no way around this?

Well, I would guess that maybe you could install another operating system that did, or you could get the palm doc bay that will go in the floppy and CD bay. The palm bay might be just for IBM workpad palm and V series palms though.... i'm not entirely sure. If you can sync with the cable or cradle, whichever you have, that would be your best best though.
