I am a new user of sony clie t 665.
I already know how to send sms using software called 2dphone and nokia with infrared.

Can anyone explain to me whether there is a possibility to send emails directly to internet using my clie and mobile phone with infrared port. Do I need any additional hardware or software???

Please explain with simple language because I am really a newbie.
thank a lot in advance:))

You need a program for your PDA that permits access to the internet (i.e. Blazer). You need a mail account either with your ISP or one of the providers (Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.). Get on the internet with your PDA and log into the web site where your e-mail account is located (i.e. www.mail.yahoo.com). Then access your account. Its that easy!

I have also tried to use 2dphone without success with a Clie 615 and a Nokia phone to send an SMS message.

How can you use this kind of hardware to dial a number to connect to a web site, and what kind of software do you have to be running to access the web site?

Thanks -

To navigate into the web you need Blazer

To send and receive mails you need iambic mail or multimail pro
then you need to configure your clie in prefs with network and need to know things like username, password to access your account

Thanks for the response. If I use the software you mentioned, and my Nokia phone as a wireless modem, can I send and receive e-mail using my current e-mail account through my ISP?

Yes, you can. I dial up Earthlink to send/receive e-mail and browse the Web (using Eudora) with a Palm m125 and Motorola p280. (I also use a Visor Deluxe and Nokia 8290.)
