3870 Frozen - Anybody have a cure?

I just made a change to my dasboard and on rebooting, it now only gets as far as an informatoin box headed Contact saying 'Unable to load the contacts module. The contacts module is already running in another view.' It has an 'OK' button but will not respond. I have reset many times vis the resessed button at the bottom but no change......anybody know how I can get this working again?

You may need to perform a hard reset. I hope you're backed up.

Yep - I had to do hard resent NOTHING backed up...............
