How to Edit 'Contacts'

Does anybody know if it is possible to edit the headings in CONTACTS (via tweaks, registry, etc) so they can be User Defined instead of Gates-Defined?

Would really appreciate some guidance. Thanks

Do you mean the ABC type heading or the actual contact name...?

Thank you for your reply. Sorry, I guess that I wasn't clear; I am refering to the the "native" headings, that come up when you add or edit a contact. So, for example, what I would like to be able to do is change "Anniversary" to "Admit Date" , or "Work Address" to "Hospital Unit".

I know I can use something like HandyBase, but would like to avoid it if I can. I thought maybe there's a tweak out there or that it's possible to change things via the registry.
