Ok folks here goes, I am looking for a good hard case. I tried the Palm Hard Case and had problems with it and did not like it. What are your opinions?
Which hard case do you like?
Why?
Which hard case don't you like?
Why not?
Just want some opinions before I spend some money.
Thanks for your input & Have a nice day,
Calvados

Personally, I don't really like any of them. I feel that a good soft case acts more like a shock absorber than a hard case.
Having said that, however, the Rhinoskin Titanium is nice, albeit pricey.

I ordered the metal deluxe case (titanium) from InnoPocket.com. Following is the link. I really like it, and the fact that there is a cut-out for the expansion card...plus it fits really well.

I have the Palm Hard case for my 515 and really trust it, but find it a bit large and heavy. It has a nice dent where it took the impact for the Palm. As I said, I trust it.
My wife has the InnoPocket case for her 505. I really like the size and weight. I have looked at others that look just like the InnoPocket in photos but did not find them to be of the same quality as the InnoPocket.

I have a Rhinoskin molded titanium hard case and I am very satisfied with it. The internal rail holds my machine tightly and the case is strong enough for back pocket use.

First, thanks to all of you for your opinons and your advice. I decided to go with the Rhinoskin because of the rail system. I am somewhat of a "clutz" and I was a little affraid of the innopocket since it did not have the rail system to hold the Palm, although I thought the innopocket was a little nicer looking.
Now all I have to do is wait for it to get here, I am very anxious.
Thanks again & have a nice day,

Just to let you know, the Innopocket deluxe case DOES have the rail..and yes, it is a much nicer looking case. I have it, and my Palm fits it like a glove!

Roodco1,
Thanks for the information, on their site they did not mention the rail, that is a shame. I may order it anyway and have a change from time to time.
It sure was nice of you to take time to let me know this info. :D
Have a nice day,

In defence of the Palm hardcase ...
I own the Palm hardcase and really like it. Granted, I have to admit I do not know what the other cases are like, but the Palm case allows the front cover to fold all the way backward. This really helps in the balance, and handling of the unit with one hand.
The disadvantage of this case is there is no cutout for the SD card, nor can you synch on the cradle (unless you put it at an edge of a book or something)

:D
I also own Palm Hardcase but my purpose of buying was to protect lower buttons of my M515 accidental being when it is in my pocket that causes " fatal error reset" hangups upon Power On of units. So far I did not encounter those problem s anymore. I don't know if you guys encountered this problem.

I use the Kensington Hard Case and really like it. Admittedly, I don't use it all the time; just when I'm travelling or in other environments (outside my office or home) where I might encounter "rough" elements for my M515. For this use it's ideals since you can slip it in or out of this case easily. No rail, but it fits snugly, doesn't rattle when in the case; and the case is very protective.

Just another question. I bought both the innopocket and the rhinoskin. I like them both & will probably switch back and forth.
For the rhinoskin, I put the Palm 515 on the rail and it is not snug at all, in fact it falls off if held in a vertical position. I wrote their customer service and they said,
Good Morning,
These hard cases for the m500 series were designed to fit the m500, m505, and the m515. All three of these Palm's are slightly different in size where it slides onto the rail. Considering this, we designed the rail to be modified to fit the Palm in question. You can take the rail toward the bottom and bend it slightly. This will give the rail a slight curve. You then can slide the Palm back on the rail and it will fit snug. Keep in mind that over time of pulling the Palm off for syncing, the rail will loosen up. You will need to bend it as needed to keep the Palm snug.
Now the question, is this the way your case was? Did you have to bend the rail? In which direction, toward or away from the hinge?
Thanks for you help & have a good day,
Calvados
