I have been using my m130 for a few months now and LOVE IT!!My husband bought and old secondhand palm IIIe and I was wondering what the best way to set up the computer so that we only hotsync the info that we each want. Also, are there any programs around that can increase the limited memory of the IIIe?

I would not try to do this. My brother tried to snyc his IIIxe after he instaled his version of the palm desktop and his serial cradle. It took me THREE days to get my m130 sync to work again.
Oh well, thats technology for ya.

The Palm Desktop can handle two Palms they MUST have different HotSync IDs. You cannot pic and choose the info to sync beyond turning on and off a conduit such as Calendar or Memo.
There is an informational page on the Palm.com website.

PS: If I recall correctly the IIIe cannot have a memory upgrade. THE IIIx would take an add in board to go to 8mg.

Ok, like an above statement, yes you can sync two palms on the same pc with no problem. Just make sure the user id's are different, but you will have to manually put a thing to install in to each user id profile on the pc. Like always, if you have a question cuz ya can't figure it out, come here, and then just give palm an e-mail. There pretty good about responding soon and will always have pretty detailed solutions.

palm boy,
Your brother made the mistake of installing an old version of Palm Desktop over your newer version. That's why HotSync got hosed.

ILovePalm,
If you installed your Palm Desktop as "USB-only", the IIIe (serial) may not get recognized. You may have to re-install your version of Palm Desktop as "both Serial and USB". Don't put in the Desktop that came with the IIIe - it is too old. I forget whether his serial cradle needs to be attached before or after installing the Desktop (see his manual).

[My wife's Palm Desktop that came with her m500 works fine with my Prism, which came with an older version.]

After install, just push the HotSync button and enter a new user name for your husband's IIIe.
