Hi,

Does anybody have experience with the MC218 in combination with the Ericcson T68i phone ?

I wish to know if these machines communicate instantly and what to keep in mind before buying a T68i.

I have a MC218 with a Nokia 6150, but the 6150 doesn't have a modem, so there is not much fun as far as I know.
Therefore I want a new mobile and my provider will let me be a member of a pilot to test the new GPRS network (Dutchtone NL), but I need to buy the T68i.

Anybody have experience in this combination and using GPRS ?

The T68i is a very good partner for the MC218 - a friend of mine here in the UK uses one very successfully with both MC218 and Series 7. Personally, I have an Ericsson R520m which we find to be very similar to the T68i in terms of required settings. I use it with both my netBook and MC218.

I have it working on GPRS on the UK O2 network. It connects within just a few seconds and then you're away! It was a little tricky to set up, since the service provider knew nothing about Epoc, but worth the effort in the end. There's a good amount of info on Mike MCConnell's site:

http://www.mikemcc.net/

including the settings that I used for my R520m. It's posted under the "General Info" section.

Hope that helps - post again if you need more assistance.

Thanx Julie, I will try it as soon as I have the T68i.

I still have to figure out a lot of things for my MC218, alkthough I use it already for a year, with all problem of batteries, backups and syncronisations ....

I don't use my email yet, but I hope to find it out soon !

Also I will try Mocha tonight, I am almost sure I will have it working tonight ...

Best of luck with Mocha then. By the way, when you go to the Mochasoft site for the download, you need to look for Mocha Win32 PPP - it's listed under "Palm and Visor". Don't be concerned! The link I posted before gives you full instructions for using it on Epoc.

Have fun
