They work just fine and do not block the stylus, which is my main concern. THe access Point is Ericsson BTW and not Cisco, but well, as long as it works & they are really cheap. Tried buying from other places, but they no longer sell this model. There is another card that Sita sells, RfNet but they are at RM300 (approx. 80USD) Good buy.:) pliskens 02-21-2003, 06:56 AM Can you tell me if the cisco card supports a point to point connection? ehasbrouck 02-21-2003, 08:13 AM They didn't have the Cisco cards when i got my MalayBook. (I got the RfNet card, which works fine but is more expensive.) From the fact that they have the Cisco cards in quantity, but label them all "ex-demo", and from the fact that they are bundling them with Ericsson access points (Ericsson was the primary hardware supplier for the MalayBook project), my guess is that Sita have finally tracked down and gotten acces to the stock of cards from the school project, and these are the Ciscos. FYI, Sita are now taking credit card orders online, making their MalayBook offering even more attractive to those put off by the cost, nuisance, and risk of prepayment by wire transfer. Their new online MalayBook and accessory store is at: http://www.sitashop.com USD258 plus USD34 shipping for a MalayBook to the USA. No tax or duty to the USA. More info here: http://hasbrouck.org/netbook (Not affiliated, just a satisfied customer. Lets get the word out and get the MalayBooks into enough people's hands that they maintain demand for netBook software, and that someone hacks the boot loader!) jhelton 02-21-2003, 10:54 AM I received the sita mBook yesterday, having ordered it after reading comments here. It looks great and still had the charge maintaining the operating system. Opened it up and it came on! The credit card option on the website www.sitashop.com is big improvement over the expensive hassle of wiring funds. As mentioned elsewhere, the case provided good protection during shipping. It's a good size since there's room for the power adapter, which I got off ebay for $12. I "transferred" the power plug from the UK mains adapter to the USA (IBM 15V, 2A) substitute. Now if I can get my wireless card to work ... jade 02-24-2003, 12:26 AM Hi Edward, Logged on to www.sitashop.com Note that the NetBook promo offered over their website does not come with the Free 56K Psion Gold Fax Card. When inquired from them, apparently this is because they have to pay a hefty sum for transactions done via the internet to WorldPay. Hence the 56K Gold card is optional. Anyway, still think this is a good deal. ehasbrouck 02-25-2003, 09:59 PM Thanks for noticing this! I have updated my MalayBook Web page to reflect this (also added some more links). http://hasbrouck.org/netbook Magellan 03-20-2003, 04:35 PM I just received my Malaybook and Cisco Aironet 242 card.
