I added 128mb of memory to my Axim and have not used it or placed it in the charger for a couple of weeks. When I tried to power it on, it would not power up and I had to use my second battery. I checked the backup battery and it is at 30% while the second main battery is at 100%. Will the additional memory drain the main battery even though I am not using the device?

I am having a similar problem. But I have not added any new memory recently. When I first got the Axim in early January, I already had a 256MB CF card I have been using since I got it. Twice in the last couple of days, I have turned my Axim on after it had been in the case turned off for only a couple of days. The light was blinking at me and sure enough when I turned it on, I had a message of "memory error". I had to re-install all programs I had added to it, though my data had been saved. This morning, after charging all night in the cradle, my main battery says 100% while the backup battery reads at 80%. Anyone know what's going on?
Thanks for any help!!!!

I am not sure, but one possible explanation might be that the Axim inadvertently got turned on in its case and drained the battery down or an alert or reminder turned the Axim on, because of your settings, and it drained the battery down. :)

I tried every way I could to power on my Axim while it is in the case and cannot make that happen. I don't have any alerts setup that would power on the Axim either.
I too have lost the additional programs that I loaded onto the Axim and had to replace the backup battery as I kept getting messages that my battery was low and should be charged. My backup battery, as I mentioned before drained down to 30%.
I had approximately 17mb of date installed on my 128mb cf card and I can't imagine that this would cause a fully charged battery and the backup to drain in a couple of weeks.

Is anyone else having this sort of problem or am I just not using this device enough?

Just as general rule of thumb. Don't let your Ax go several days without charging, even though you "don't use it," it still drains battery poewr to keep the little things running (appointments, alarms, clock...). The Memory battery has been narrowed down to a programing error. It will flux between 100-70% safely, 60% and I will change mine. I carry a back up and charge my main every night. The day I didn't I had problems.

Thanks for the info. Does that mean that there is or will be a fix from Dell for this "programming error" for the memory battery?:)
