I recently installed Yahoo Intellisink and found problems so I uninstalled it and now when I attempt to hot synch my PalmV it begins the hot sych... says "Connecting with handheld" then "Identifying User" then it quits and says that the operation was interrupted and some of my data was not backed up. It says to refer to the log. I did and the message there says:
HotSync operation started 09/09/02 14:46:45
HotSync Error:
An application failed to respond to a
HotSync notification. Please check the Palm Desktop for details. (8009)

First... can someone slap me upside the head for attemting to use anything to do with Yahoo THEN.... Can anyone tell me what went wrong?
Appreciate any help on this. Also would appreciate reply via email Petsitter@feathersnpaws.com as I may not be able to get back in to read posts soon. Already wasted a ton of time trying to fix problem and have little critters who need me.

Thanks so much,
Marianne

Step one would be to reinstall the Palm Desk top software. That will relink everything. As to what happpened I can't give you a specific answer but would simply remind you, "Yahoo."
If you want your Yahoo email and are using Outlook Express consider a great app that goes on the PC and simply moves Yahoo mail to the InBox so it will load to your Palm, it is called OneMail and can be found at Palmgear.com.

Hi DrMud... thank you for your prompt reply. I wish I could say that I didn't already try that but unfortunately re-installing didn't work. I haven't the need to get my email on my Palm so I have always had that feature disabled. Any other ideas of what I can try to solve this problem?

I read and printed out the intructions. Messing with the registry like a very scary thing to do since I could lose all of my information. I have copied my entire Palm directory onto a CD so hopefully that will be enough of a backup of my data. I'm going to try. Will let you know how I make out. Thanks so much for your help.
