E-125 Turns off and won't turn on

I have an E-125 w/ a 340 MB Microdrive, about 13 months old. The main and backup battery show 100%, but for some reason, when running off either a powered cradle or battery, it turns off by itself. Won't turn back on. I reseated both the backup and main battery, and after a while, sometimes a few minutes, sometimes more, it will finally come back on after jiggling the batteries or the battery door lock switch. Seems to occur with or without the CF card in.

If it's a symptom of a bad battery, I'll be happy to replace it, but I was wondering if it could be anything else.

This is what I suggest:

Get yourself a new backup battery.
First backup your Casio.
Then install the main battery.
Plug the Casio in and recharge overnight.
Once recharged, install the new backup battery.
Make sure you do not touch the battery with your hands.
Use a tissue.

This should solve your problem if the Casio is not physically
damaged.

If the device can be switched on after jiggling the battery cover lock switch you possibly have a hardware problem.

It seems like the back cover was removed for some reason & the device reassemblked with the battery cover lock knob in main battery position.

Under the the battery cover lock knob there is a microswitch on the main board which will keep the device turned off with the switch in "main " position.

You might have to take the back cover off & while manipulating the microswitch LIGHTLY spray a switch cleaning agent like WD-40 or a old time TV tuner/ volume control cleaning/lubricating spray. DON'T FLOOD THE SWITCH.

Also when reassembling the back cover make absolutely sure that the battery knob is in BACKUP position.

Battery swap didn't make a difference.

I'll take it apart and reassemble it this evening, but the odd thing is, it just did this out of the blue one day. It wasn't as if I had just taken it apart, reassembled it incorrectly, and then the problem popped up.

I have a Casiopeia E-125, and I had the same problem. You just have to make sure that the battery door is locked.
