Has anyone experienced a problem with the m500 just dying after a short period of ownership?
I have only had this one 3 months and it just died. In fact, this is the second one that died on me. The first one was only 30 days old. I had a m125 that died before this at 11 months. I'm very careful, I don't drop them, I have a case for it. I can't figure out what's the problem. Palm did fix the 125, but I really needed a better unit anyway so I got the 500. This time I got it with an automatic replacement policy from the store I bought it from, however, this is a hassle each time I have to go through this. I'm beginning to think I have a magnetic charge around me!
Is anyone familiar with the technology? What kind of events/actions and cause handhelds to die? Thanks in advance.

I have had the same thing happen. I am on my third 500. Palm has replaced them but it is a terrible hassle. I bought a Sony Clie and have not had great luck with that. I am also very careful with it but...
I have not even loaded the 500 since I got it back.

Disgusted!!!!

You should check out: http://www.pstec.de/ppp/pppqual/m500qual.html

My Palm m500 went tits up after about 9 months of ownership, and I had to return it, then get a replacement. Carphone Warehouse were great for this, as they were for giving me a new T68i when my old one screwed up (well, it didn't, but I thought it did! Anyway, the case was chipped, the new handset was welcome :p).

I believe this may have had something to do with my problem, and it could have something to do with yours, also. Anyway, check it out. Hope it helps clarify :)
