Hello!
I'm in need of help. My problem is, that I can't make my psion 5 mx to be synchronized with the outlook express mailer. No one could help me until now. Can anyone tell me a solve?
I know that there is a function to sync with Outlook, but I have only outlook express. In fact, I accept any godd ideas that make my psion to work with any free or other no-cost email clients on pc.
By the way, I'm using OE 6.
Pleeeease help me!!!! I will follow this topic, but I would be happy to an e-mail too: lugosi.bela@freemail.hu

You cannot synchronize email with Outlook Express, you must use "Outlook".

There is a way to sync with Outlook Express but it's just not free. Companion Link is the only solution I'm aware that works with the Psion and Outlook Express. The trouble is it costs US$50, which isn't much less than you'd pay for a copy of Outlook 98 or 2000. At this point, you might be better off looking at some of the web software discount sites and getting Outlook.

Thanks. I downloaded the program. Did you try it? Because I found that it is capable to cync only the contacts, what is not good for me. Did you manage to sync the mails?
Thanks for the quick help.

Lugosi,
Sorry, you are quite right. My brain was thinking syncing with Outlook Express, not syncing the Outlook Express e-mail. There is, however, another option. If you're willing to switch to Eudora Pro for e-mail, there's a program called eSync 2000 that works with all EPOC computers. I think Eudora for the PC is free or very low cost and eSync is US$29.50. You can download a trial version at http://www.pdacentral.com/epoc/preview/59988.html .

I am very disappointed. Looks like symbian and the major companies that make e-mail clients have signed a "non-agression-pact", that they cooperate to make solutions with other expenses only. I think that I have paid for OE as well, with buying my windows 2000, so I don't understand why I have to spend any money to another mail client.
The strange thing is that I don't use Microsoft Office. Why? Because I'm a home user and I don't need it. In office "of course" it is our standard too, but at home I'm doing well with my totally free Openoffice.org, which is, "of course", like any free or low-cost solution, not supported...  :(
I understand your frustration Lugosi, but you say it here:

Outlook Express is also 'free' in that it comes as a bonus with the operating system you paid for. Since it is free, it is not surprising that nobody supports it...
I think Jim's solution is a very good one - its very cheap if not totally free, and maybe if you paid a little money you could expect some support ;)

In the UK I found Outlook 98 on the front of a PC magazene! Free on the CD! It might be possible to find it free! It should be noted that your existing e-mails can be converted from Outlook Express to Outlook, I don't know if it is possible with the other suggested e-mail program.
In short it was free for me too!
