M130 HotSync problem - NEED HELP!!!

I received a Palm M130 as a gift 2 weeks ago. I've been trying to HotSync, unsuccessfully, ever since! I keep getting the error message "Unable to initiate HotSync operation because the port is in use by another application". I have been on the phone with both Palm and Gateway but to no avail.

Has anyone else had this problem and, if so, can you please tell me how you fixed it? This is SO frustrating! I'm about to go back to using a paper day planner!

There are problems with using Palm Desktop with Windows XP. In order to HotSync, you will need to have administrator privileges or be on the administrator account.

That should solve the problem. Good luck.
