Cell Phone: Infrared?

I'm looking for a new phone, and I was interested in one with an infrared port. What's a good model? The use that most intrigued me was sending contacts back and forth; is that possible? Wireless web browsing doesn't interest me that much because I only get 55 minutes a month, but what else can I do? Thanks in advance! :D

right now is a bad time to purchase a smartphone, the current models are becomming old the end of next month and the old models are already cloaseout...
depending on service carriers:
sprint has the i330 from samsung for around $450 which is a good unit
also the I300 may still be avail in some places which is a much better value for $199 ( it lacks vision and downloadable ringers, no loss)
stay away from the treo300/600.. users have been complaning of multiple fatal problems with the os involving the phone.

verizon and alltel offet two kyocera models the 6035 and the 7135(?) the 6000 is a stripped down basic 8mb monocrome unit that sell for around $350 and the full color 7000 series is not yet priced.

cingular and other gsm companies offer the treo units..
