Hi,

I am getting nuts.

I have a MC218, PSIWIN 2.3 build 149.

I run W2k and Outlook 2000 with Exchange server.

a) I cannot get the synchro to work.

b) And I cannot get IMAP4 connect to work.

I need help to avoid getting nuts.

a) I can setup sync just fine, but when I run it, I get an errormessage that the file C:\EPOC\PocketPal\Synchro\Synchronization.es~ cannot be accessed as it is in use. Then I have to reboot my PC in order to be able to run the sync program again.

This is the only file in the C:\EPOC\PocketPal\Synchro\ folder, and I can delete it wityhout any problems from the filemanager, so it is not locked....

Has anyone succesfully set up synchronization between a MC218 and Outllok 2000/Exchange?

Please help me....

Jens Jakob, happy MC218 owner, but without offline mail.... (and calendar, and notes and contatacts..........)

What is Pocket Pal and what is in the Pocket Pal folder? This is not a standard EPOC Connect folder. If this is some kind of third party program, I suggest that you disable it and try syncing again. I'm using WinXP with exactly the same version of EPOC Connect and have no problems.

My first thought would be to try a soft reset of the MC218 before going any further, if you haven't done so already. Got a paperclip handy? ;)

Have done several times now - still doesnt work.

I start the Psion Synchronizer from the "My Psion" window, I click synchronize, and it just disappears, no status window, no nothing.

In the taskmanager I can see syncapp.exe running, but with no consumation of cpu-cycles. So I just stop the process.

Weird. There should come some kind of status message, telling about how the proces goes?

It does sound like something on the PC is conflicting then in that case. How about trying something like EndItAll to make sure that everything except essentials is closed down before synching?

It's only a small app - I can send the file if you want it.

Jens,

It sounds like the synchro task files are corrupted. Delete all the files under C:\EPOC\PocketPal\Synchro. This should leave you with no synchronization tasks in the sync window. Set up a new synchonization with just the calendar first and make sure that works. If so, you can then add the rest of the syncro tasks back in.

Jens,

Have you gotten EndItAll yet? This program will shut down all non-essential Windows program and generally allows you to sync when no other solutions work. At least get EndItAll and install and use it and see if you can then get the sync to work. I suspect that something is running in the background as part of your Exchange environment that is stopping PsiWin from working.
