Aggghhhh!! I've been working on this for a couple of days, and it's very frustrating! A couple of weeks ago, I purchased a Palm M130 to replace my old WorkPad C3. We use Lotus Notes at work, and it's imperative that I get this working! The old EasySync worked just fine with my old WorkPad C3. I shouldn't have listened to the young guy at Best Buy when he said everything should still work fine!

I loaded on the Palm desktop software that came with the M130 (v. 4.0.1) with HotSync Manager 4.0.2 and pushed the sync button. When it didn't work, I downloaded EasySync Pro v. 4.2, build 491, from the Lotus web site, and paid $51.00 for it. I knew this wouldn't be easy!! I've been struggling for 2 days to make it work! I've called Palm, I've called Lotus, and neither place will help. I know I uninstalled EasySync, but it's possible I did it after I loaded EasySync Pro, in fact I think I did. Is that my problem? If so, what can I do? It looks like EasySync is gone, but could it have left something on my computer somewhere?

I've tried every troubleshooting tip I could find, and still I can't seem to properly synch! Every time I think I've got it working, it stops working. At one point it was working to the point that the calendar on the Palm actually overwrote the LN calendar on my desktop, which of course I didn't want it to do! Luckily, I have my OLD WorkPad C3 still, which has all my appointments on it, and I was able to recreate things. But I'm spending way too much time on this.

I need to know:

* Will this every work?? Has anyone out there successfully gotten EasySync Pro to work with the Palm M130? If I have to remove hidden files left behind by old version of EasySync and reinstall everything, how do I do that?

* If EasySync Pro is a dud, will my old version of EasySync work with the new software for the Palm?

* Are there step-by-step instructions and troubleshooting tips out there anywhere that covers all of my questions?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have had success using EasySync 3.0 and 4.1 with Notes 4.6* thru 5.0* and with Palm Handhelds III thru TT.
I prefer EasySync 3.0, as it is less messy.
The mail conduit will not work with Win 2000, but the others do.
I haven't tried 3.0 on XP yet.
If you must have the mail conduit and have Win 2K or higher, I think you have to use Easy Sync 4.1 or higher.

I would recommend (in this order)

1. Use Sync Fixer to remove the Notes databases from the handheld:
http://www.freewarepalm.com/utilities/syncfixer.shtml
2. Uninstall Easy Sync from Windows.
3. Unistall Palm Software from Windows.
4. Reinstall Palm Software on Windows.
5. Reinstall Easy Sync

If this still doesn't work you may want to peruse the Notes Easy Sync support at:
http://www-3.ibm.com/software/lotus/support/easysync/support.html

Good luck.

It sounds like you and I have the same issue, except I'll go one step further. I did finally get the palm working with my T20 thinkpad using EasySync Pro and synchronizing with Lotus Notes.

Two weeks ago I received a T21, set it up the same way as the old T20 and while the palm and t'pad will talk to each other, I don't get ALL of the calendar entries. When I posted a question, one of the responses was to try Intellisync...

If you get input that works, please let me know. I really don't want to go out and buy another piece of software without knowing whether or not it will work.

We used to use Easysync here at work (with note 4.6 then notes 5, both on win98) but we had a few specific problems with it. From memory, if you wanted to completely get easysync off your system you had to get in to the registry and physically remove the settings. Uninstal simply didnt work properly, it would remember the things that were causing the problems.

You can use the regular add/remove programs and after go into the registry. The easysync keys were in HKLM/Software and HKCU/Software in the lotus directories, but look elsewhere in there too. Export these out somewhere safe and delete the keys in the registry. If it doesn't work, you can add them back in.

There is also a free trial version from the pumatech website if you want to try it out. It is slower than easysync though...
