Over the years that I've owned the 3A, I have had a few crashes where I've lost all my data. The problem, as of today, is:

I was playing "Patience" when I got a runtime error and closed out the program. I then turned the psion off and on, and the game came back up but noticed that my main battery supply was low, so I changed the batteries. I then turned on the 3A, and the game "Patience" reappeared and froze. After a few attempts to turn the psion on and off again, only the game appeared and froze.

Extensive amounts of data are on this 3A and although I backed up to my PC a month ago, I still can't afford to easily lose last month's work. If I do a reset, what are my chances of not losing my data? In the past, it sometimes has worked but before I do this, I thought I'd turn to you folks for any suggestions that you have. Thank you so much for listening and I welcome any advice.

Nancy,

See if you can "kill" Patience with the multiple keypress Psion-Control-Shift-K

If that doesn't work, you may have to perform a "soft" reset and hope that in the process you don't lose internal data.

I decided to try the soft reset and it worked fine-no loss of data. Glad there is a forum like this. I appreciate your speedy reply.
