Here's something I had not needed to do before now. I need to compare a couple of documents and edit both of them simultaneously. Okay, I don't have to do it simultaneously, but it would make the process much easier. (I am writing/editing a traning manual and the corresponding leader's guide - much easier to do in parallel.)

Anyone know if it is possible? How do you do it?

Thanks,
Jack

Yes you can certainly open multiple Word files. By default, this is done by returning to the System screen without exiting from the first file, highlighting the second (or next) file to open and pressing [Fn-Enter].

[Fn-Enter] can be changed to just [Enter] in the System screen menus - "Tools > Preferences".

With more than one Word file open, tapping the Word icon will move between the open files.

Just to add a small subtlety to Mike's info:

If you change the Open Multiple Files option to 'Enter' in System Tools.. Preferences.., from then on just double-tapping any file in System will open it alongside however many files you already have open of that type. I always run my Psions this way - you just have to remember to have a bit of a 'file-closing' session once in a while if you do not have the habit of closing a file as soon as you have finished working on it ;)
