HEEELLLLP!!!

So here's my software configuration:

Microsoft Windows XP Home
Outlook 2000

We have always been able to successfully sync my wife's m505 with no problem. This morning we were fooling around and we renamed the user profiles (the ones that come up when you log into Windows XP). We then had a problem syncing with Outlook, so we changed the names back again, but the problem persists:(

All of the "non-Outlook" syncing (i.e. documents to go, etc.) work fine, but the sync log says that it could not find the correct profile for Outlook. When I go to Palm Mail Setup and choose outlook 97 or higher I get the following message:

"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client."

I hit OK and then I get this:

"An error occurred while trying to initialize MAPI. Please verify that the mails system you selected is currently setup and that you can send and receive mail."

Outlook is working great. I don't notice if it's my default or not. How do I do this???

I realize this is more likely a Windows or Outlook problem, but any and all suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

OK, I think I solved the Outlook default mail thing (my default was set to Outlook Express).

But our sync log still gives us this message:

Outlook Calendar synchronization failed
-- Outlook Contacts
User: Jane Doe
Version: 3.0.2 (Build: 20010112)

ERROR: 80040605
Failed to locate correct profile. Please close Outlook, open Outlook, and synchronize again.

10868: BaseConduit
575: BaseConduit

Any ideas why this is coming up and how to fix it.

Thanks.

No worries - all is well again. A simple reboot did the trick.

Thanks anyway. :D
