converting data files from 5mx

I have all my addresses in data format, stored in differents files ( Business, Privat etc ) ; I will like to use also on my PC ( using Access or Excell ) , but as I tried to convert to any format , trought Psiwin 2.3.3. ( with Copy and convert option ) , the operation is stopped with the message " problem during convertion. Acces denied "
Note that with the same files the sincronisation with "contacts" of Outlook work fine.
Is there any one can help me to solve this problem ?

Some users do seem to have problems converting Data files with PsiWin 2.3.3 although I don't have a problem with 2.3.1 which converts to Access OK.

One option is to "export" the Data files in the 5mx as delimited text files and then open them with a PC application.

You can also use the Psion's "Print to File" option, using the "General" printer driver, to create a plain text file.

You can copy and convert the file as a .csv file and this seems to work fine on my data files. If you want to convert to one of the other supported types, such as Access, you need this installed on your machine. I only have MS Access installed and the conversion process to this format works fine.

If I try one of the other supported db's such as dbase5.0 it provides part of your error message confirming 'there was a problem converting the file' but it does not issue the access problem warning. V.Strange.

Make sure the files are closed on your Psion before copying. BTW I am using Psiwin 2.3.3 with NT 4.0 (SP6a).

I tried both your suggestions.
I tried to convert 8 different files : what I found is that the convertion work properly on 4 ( to any file destination , Access, CDV, DBase ) , but not on other 4 ( and unlikely dosn't work the files I need ) , and I not able to see the difference between the files . All the files are closed on the Psion.
May be I can send to you by email copy of the files ( at least one working and one not working ).
