What is the best software to develope software for Pocket PC 2000 and 2002? I am used to using .NET, C++, Java, ect...

Embeded Visual Tools is the most popular development package in use. You can download it free of charge from http://www.pocketpc.com or Microsoft's web site. You will need a good internet connection because the download is quite big. I have also seen the program sold in some computer stores.

Does this work only for Pocket PC 2002? Or will these run on Pocket PC 2000? Also what does the iPaq need to run these programs?

There are add-on modules for most types of Windows CE devices including the handheld pcs, palm size pc, and Pocket PC 2000 and 2002. During installation, you are given an option on which devices you want support for. The program runs on your desktop computer, which must have Windows 2000 or XP installed. There is an emulation program bundled with the download which will let you test your programs on your desktop computer. The programming environment is very similar to Visual Studio.

Thanks. I tried to install embedded visual tools 3.0 and it asks for a serial number. What do I enter??

There should be a readme.txt file with the serial number which came bundled with the download.
