I originally wanted the Ipaq 3955 but it was $200 more than the 3835, so I went with the 3835.

What are the major differences? Actually, what are all the differences?

Does the 3955 have more colors(Like 60,000 or something)..It just seems that my 3835 doesn't have as many colors. For example, when I add a screen saver, it seems as if it has a "haze" over it, making it not as colorful as it looks in these pics of a 3955 and a Samsung PPC.

See this link. http://www.pacifictime2000.com/productpics/ebay/IPAQ4.jpg That is the "haze" I'm talking about, its just not as colorful as it could be on that pic and the screensavers that I try...

Does the 3955's faster processor make that much of a difference?

I too recently had this dilemmna and choose the 3955 just becasue I didnt want to have regrets down the road. I am very happy I did too. The extra 200 bucks gives you a much better screen......brighter, better outodors, and probably looks more clear which is why colors might look better in combination with the brightness and lack of reflection. I wouldnt know how much different the processor is because I never owned a 200 mhz PDA. Im guessing the difference is minimal right now, however, in the future when Xscale extensins are built into code the difference will widen quite abit. (another reason I went for the 400 mhz) Im not sure, but I do know the SD memory slot on the 3955 supports SDIO devices and Im not sure if the 3800 series does. Other than those few things, they are pretty much identicle. The might feel completely different in your hand though

The SD slot in the 3800 series does not support I/O. Also, the 3900 series have a stronger IR port and a universal remote control built in. I have also heard the 3900 series has corrected many of the bugs found in the 3800 series. The Pocket PC OS is not optimized to take advantage of the 400MHz XScale processor right not. However, I have seen a little difference on the performance of some of my applications that used to be installed on my old iPAQ 3660. The 3660 had a 206MHz Strong Arm processor. There is some speculation that the new Pocket PC OS will be released in the summer or early fall. The 3900 series is capable of having the OS upgraded when the time comes.
