I have just found a problem with my 7book e-mail program - which was working fine until now.
When I open the program I get the error message "The message server has closed - E-mail must now exit". Pressing continue then closes the program.
The machine hung up on me the other day, requiring a warm re-set to get working again. I think it is since then that this occurred. I did a hard reset and restore this morning, after which it seemed ok, but when I got home and plugged in the wireless card, it came up with same error.

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks

Hi MrSums,

Sounds like your commsdb.dat file could be corrupt. Have had something similar happen to me a couple of times as I suffer from Triple Beep Resets with my 7book and Psion CombineIT card. What you will need to do is write down all your Ethernet, Modems, Internet & Dialling Properties. (Can you get into all these settings ok from your control panel?).

Once you have got them all written down, delete the c:\system\data\commsdb.dat, Wldsvr.dat and WLD_DATA.DBW files and then re-enter your ethernet, modem, internet and dailing properties again manually.

Hopefully this should sort out your problem.

I think I identified the problem as a corrupted local mailbox. I copied the mailbox onto D: drive and then hard booted again with a different CF card in. When I opened up the mail service it re-created new mailbox and it all works again, although I have lost some of my old mails - only the sent ones, tho' as the rest are copied onto the local inbox, not moved.
