Palm Series 3

I have been using a Series 5 but have an old Series 3 that I want to give to my nephew. Checking it out, it sticks on Time, ie., there is no way to get out of the Time function other than a Hard Reset. Am I missing something?

Thank you.

There is no option to exit "Time" in the usual way with Psion-X and the correct procedure is to press the System button on the button bar.

However, if this isn't working you can get out of "Time" by pressing Esc, Up Arrow and Down Arrow simultaneously and it will jump from Time into an open Sheet file if there is one or to the Sheet icon in the system screen. You can, of course, exit from an open Sheet file in the normal way with Psion-X.

Thank you for your assistance.

The Button Bar is not working and neither is the Escape/Up/Down.

Also how can I access System without button bar?

PS. I no longer have the manual. Psion should have it online as a pdf.

Is it an original Series 3 "classic" you have, because the Esc, Up, Down certainly works with the 3a and 3c?

I am not aware of any way to access the System screen other than (1) the button bar (2) the Esc, Up, Down trick or (3) exiting from an application, other than Time, with Psion-X.

Realistically, the S3, 3a and 3c really are too old now for Psion still to have documentation in their support files :)

Yes a basic 3.

Don't know if this is going to be too late, but there is a way too switch programs with a broken button bar.
Do a search on the Psion sites for DPswitch by Daniel Pfund.
It just stays resident, and you switch using shift/esc.

Hope it's not too late.
