m515 - less than a week old - hotsync problems with h type cradle.
when i switched usb cable to another port (from 1 to 2) - hotsync worked again (for a while) tried the port 1 again, it was still dead - but it is also dead to any of my other usb devices - does m515 "blow" usb ports?

also i have NSbasic (nice piece of kit) but cannot get rom image uploaded from my handheld (yep - put the usbport dll into emulator directory) etc etc but the "working" screen just stares blankly at me.

Yep - i have disabled hotsync during it, but it seems as though it won't connect through usb.. hmmpf...

anyhow - apart from shelling out for a serial cable (first thing tomorrow me thinks) has anyone else any ideas..

cheers

Try putting your 515 in the cradle and syncing from the icon on your PDA screen.
What internet provider do you use?

Thought i had tried onscreen hot sync button - but will make sure and try that again.

Internet provider? getting personal aren't we? hehe - Force 9.net

Something i forgot to mention, when trying to transfer the 515 rom to pc - (with usb/cradle) i get a timeout message appear on the palm... any ideas?

You shouldn't have to disable HotSync for the ROM transfer. Just make sure the ROM transfer.prc is installed on your Palm, then in the Emulator go to Transfer ROM... and follow the instructions. (Try changing the port speed setting.)

have tried to follow instrucions but after both pda and pose transfer program begin buttons pressed, pda says waiting then timesout, and PC just sits there waiting reply from pda.

just wondering, i can hotsync very well with IR, can you do a rom transfer that way?

well, after all the hassles i have been having getting my rom to transfer to PC over the USB connection, it turns out that the POSE downloader that i was using (bundled with NSBASIC) was at fault.

Downloaded latest and greatest from palmos - and ok with the world again...

thanks to all those that have read/ and replied to this thread.
