I'm in the market for one of these three PDA's....I can get all three for about the same pric($175-$200) on ebay.
Any reason I should choose any of the palm's over the HP? I had the Jornada in the past, but parted with it when I left my job. I liked being able to use Word and Excel.
I like the size factor of the m130...I held one in Staples the other day.
My main criterea basically are size and it must have a color screen. I'd like as much functionality as possible....but it has to be something I can stuff in a pocket (pants pocket not coat pocket)
Thanks

Ok.. I'm not the most knoweledgeable dude but here are my 2 cents....
First.. you need to decide what OS is best for you.. Palm -or- WindowsCE/Pocket PC The latter gives you more options, fancier interface, audio capabilities, video, etc... However, I have found that pocket PC ( Jornada ) is incompatable with what I use my PDA for. If I needed to use all that power, I would drag my laptop around.
Palm although basic is a great organizer, and functions well with TONS of applications. Heck.. you can easily build your own. Most apps are cheep or free if you spend the time looking for them, and programs like quick office -or- documents to go will give you word/powerpoint/access/excel capability.. I have a Jornada 690 & a Palm 105. My Jornada almost always stays home.
As far as models,, either the 505 or 130 should do well, basicly I would advise you to research the features of these models, ( expantion ports, memory, resolution ect ) and bounce these features off your budget.

Thanks so much for your response.
You mention about creating my own apps. Is there a developer's kit for PalmOS? I'm actually studying programming right now in school, and I'd be interested in what is involved in programming for handheld devices.
:)I actually think I just decided on a device. I was at circuit city today and was playing with the new Sony PEG-SJ30. It is a slick little machine...the screen was much brigher than the either of the Palm's I was considering....and seemed to operate a little faster. It is also just the PERFECT size I am looking for. I didn't know it was a brand new release...or I would have just bought it today. I came home figuring I could find it cheaper on the 'net than the $299 price...but it looks like it's a pretty new since hardly anyone stocks it and I can't get it much cheaper online.
Thanks again for your response.
