I wish to buy a PDA to use mainly for e-mail and viewing previously downloaded web-content such as the Guardian Unlimited electronic newspaper for instance.

I believe that the m515 is capable of doing this but I would like to hear from anyone who knows of a cheaper model which can do this as well.

Avantgo.com

Most any Palm/Sony/HandEra/Handsping device will do.

I haven't used Avantgo for email -- don't think it can do this part of your task. Try Eudora for this function.

Yes, almost any device should do it as long as it has sufficient memory. It isn't hard to require 2 mbytes of space just for Avantgo.

The Palm 515 and OS 4.1 are very capable of handeling the task. Consider Plucker if you want to build your own content. THeir site is www.plkr.org.
