There are six files on there, but I can't get to any of them. Any advice? Also what is locked and unlocked. Jacob 03-07-2003, 07:04 PM In the Palm's built-in launcher, go up top to the drop down menu and there should be an option at the bottom to get to your files on your SD card. And in response to your second question, the locked feature means that you can't erase or put new files on your expansion card. Unlocked means the opposite. tpatch4717 03-07-2003, 07:08 PM When I click card from the drop down menu, nothing appears on the screen. When I go to card info,it tells me there are 6 items totalling 2.4MB. Am I doing something wrong? pdasteve 03-07-2003, 07:23 PM It sounds like you are opening the "card info" application. That will give you a summary of what is on your card and how much memory it is using. Go back to your palm launcher and from the pull down menu open the "all" option. This will just get you back to the correct place. From here you will only view the programs on your internal memory. Then select from the pull down menu your "expansion card" option. It may have a different name if you have renamed the card. When you open this you should be able to access the programs stored on your external card. I suggest downloading a program called Filez (www.nosleep.net ). It is a freeware file manager. This will allow you to see what programs and associated files are on both the internal and external memory. You will be able to copy, move, delete files as well as preform a system back-up to your card. Another benefit of Files... When you add programs to try then delete them afterwards, "bits" of the program can "remain" on in your memory without you knowing. Filez will allow you to identify these files and you can delete them. Be careful what you delete, it is easy to delete files associtated with programs you wish to keep. Preform the back-up before you begin to delete files. Hope this helps. PDASteve Telyx 03-08-2003, 06:58 PM We should add... are the files on your expansion card "programs" (executable) or "databases?" Only programs will show up in the "Card" category of the app launcher, and depending on how much you have on the card, it can take several seconds for the launcher to "read" the card and display what's on it. And I've read of people having problems with SanDisk brand cards not being recognized properly by Palms. tpatch4717 03-08-2003, 09:22 PM :) Thank You to everyone who helped me out with this problem. I downloaded the program that someone recommended and it helped tremendously. As to the last response,my card is a sandisk, maybe that was part of the problem. PDA Street
