Calling all SonyEricsson P800 & Psion owners!

I am on the very verge of buying a P800, but I realised there's one question I haven't yet asked anyone.

Does it work as a modem with a netBook via IR? Given that I'll bet it supports IrOrBex, does it still support good old IRComm?

Obviously the netBook does not and will never support Bluetooth, IR is my only connectivity option.

Thanks in advance for any advice on this one.

If you have a GPRS aware SIM, it should work out of the box without too much messing around.
I have simply set my netBook an internet account with smart dialling disabled and the standard dialup number of *99#.

The modem is the standard 'Infrared Mobile Phone' setting, with the baud rate set to 115200. I also enabled terminal detect on the Advanced tab.

I have a netBook and p800. I have had total success using my p800 as an ir modem to log into my ISP email and read/send stuff, so I am certain internet will work perfectly too.

HOWEVER, I could not send ir SMSs from my netbook to my p800. It just says no response from modem. Anyone had any better luck with SMS? Maybe the settings need changing?
