:D Hey, I just have some questions about the nr70v:
1. Does it have cpu waitstates, or not (like visors)?
2. Exactly what type of sony memory stick do you need for mp3s, and does it also store normal files.
3. Is the camera actually that usefull(I don't mean the quality, I mean general practicality?
4. Is the keyboard hard to type on(with those small keys)?
5. Do the extra 160 vertical pixels actually come into play besides in photographs?
6. Is the speaker actually that loud?
7. Is it compatible with jackflash?
8. Does the swivel-screen ever just get annoying?
9. Does anyone feel like selling theirs really cheap so I don't have to work 6 months at my minimum wage job to earn the money for one(besides saving up for a car and college)?:D
Thanks a million.

2. Yes you use the same sticks "Lexar, Scandisk and Sony of course" for data and MP3 or any other Sony products that uses the sticks.
3.I don't have the one with the camera, some work places don't allow cameras on their premises, my work place doesn't . I do have a Sony digital camera that uses the sticks. However, I can't seem to be able to play the short videos on the Clie.
4. I just can't get used to the keyboard and purchased the Belkin and now the Stowaway has an NR, T series compatible model as a previous entry mentioned.
8. The problem with the swivel screen is that the buttons are on the keyboard side and that is annoying.
Additional info: This is my first experience with a PDA but when I went to Costco last, they had a model that had I known, I would have bought instead. I am not sure which series it was, perhaps the T series, it had all the features I love about the NR70 and no tiny keyboard. The buttons were in front and easy to access. I think that the price was something like $299 (not sure), cheaper than the NR70. As I noted, I am a novice without much comparative experience.

3) I like the camera.
4) Some characters are a problem because of being combinations of buttons that are next to eachother. Also some characters that you can write are not there. There is an ALT key that is not clear what it does. Playing with it I was able toget some international characters.
5) The virtual writting are is nice you can see what you are writting.
6) Very loud. I can hear the alarm when my clie is in my pocket.
7) Yes. Also works with JackSprat so you can free up even more space.
8) Not having the buttons alway available is a problem.

3. I also don't have a camera on mine, due to business concerns, but I have a friend who does, and he has fun taking "candid camera" shots with it. Handy for pic of someone you just met and have added into your address book.
4. I like the keyboard, but then I'm still pretty new to Grafitti. Some of my friends who have tested mine don't like it, others do. Test one before buying, use it like a thumbpad (like text messaging on a cell phone.) It's amazingly good for the size.
5. More apps are planning to come out full-screen, thegadgeteer.com reviews some of them.
8. The hidden-by-swivel buttons can be relplaced by using the EasyLaunch hack - I use that and McPhling. I like the fact that it closes up for protection (although I finally got a case for it, it was living in my purse for 3 months with no other protection, and fared pretty well.)
9. No way. Just got a zip-around case for mine for $30-odd online, love it, the Clie snaps in and out. I've dropped my baby computer at least 10 times, just this morning it was in a jacket pocket - jacket fell 3 feet onto concrete, pocket-first. My Clie is fine - Sony is good to klutzes. I also like the speed. The trial shoot-em-up game that comes with it is GREAT, especially when you listen to it with the head phones. Explosions in STEREO! (Or at least in both ears.) Maybe you'll just have to wait for a bit... I'm sure the price will drop w/in a year...

1. Don't know
2. I use the blue sticks. They are less expensive (can find $128M for $54 or so) and don't involve a music protection scheme.
3. The camera is a nice toy that actually can produce useable wallet size photos. I use it for fun and enjoy it. There are times when I don't have a camera and can take a quick shot to communicate something. For example shopping I can take a photo of something to show to my wife.
4. I find the keyboard took a bit of getting used to but I use it when I want to type something long (about this message length). I wish Sony had put a row of number keys so one wouldn't have to use the shift function to get to them.
5. Right now photos and trailers use the extra screen size. Some apps like QuickWord also use the full screen. More will be available. Some other good uses for the full screen are the graffiti feedback (shows you what you have scetched as you write) and the fact that that area is light up so you can see it in the dark. Also Sony has put a nice alternate keyboard in the place of the graffiti that I use all the time.
6. The speaker is not loud enough for me. I use the earphones for any serious listening.
7. I don't know.
8. For the sake of having a built in keyboard I like the clamshell design and swivel screen. It also acts as a great screen protector.
9. Not for sale. I like this thing.
