e740 constantly RESETS randomly

It just randomly resets and goes back the very beginning, erasing all my files, etc. I have to re-align the screen and such. All info is lost. It just started to do this. I have an Sandisk ULTRA 256 Memory card in it.... could that be the problem??

I assume you tried using it without the card in place? That would be the first step in seeing whether or not it was the machine alone....

I had the same problem wih my unit and sent it back to Toshiba who replaced it and I have never had the problem again (touch wood).

Have you checked the battery switches both the one on the side and the little white one on the bottom. I switched the white one on the bottom off when I first got my unit and totally wiped everything. Maybe one of these is faulty.

I use a 512CD, a microdrive and SD ram and haven't had any problems - sounds like hardware.
