to start, i HAVE downloaded the patch.
this morning my touch screen has started acting loopy... it is not touch sensitive or just highlights random programs/areas when touched.
i'll run the digitizer and it'll work fine for about five minutes befores starting to act crazy again.
any suggestions?
am i going to have to chalk it up as a faulty device and exchange it?
that would suck...

I have the same problem. When the T/T is closed, the touch screen does not work most of the time. It works and doesnt work very irregrularly.
The D-pad works fine, its just i cant use my touchscreen while the TT is closed, which makes NewPen, GA and all those programs Useless....... and yes ive downloaded the digitizer patch and installed it.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........

Just a suggestion ... Yo0u might consider backing up your data via HotSync and then performing a hard reset on your TT to see if that corrects your screen. If it does not, I would contact Palm and exchange your TT.

How do you perform a HARD RESET?

Remember that a hard reset will erase all of your data! Be sure to do a back-up sync before hard resetting.
Instructions for a Hard Reset are on Pages 243-244 of the Tungsten User's Guide ("Handbook For Palm Tungsten T Handhelds.") The steps are:
1 - Open TT (which will also turn it on)
2 - Hold down then Power button
3 - Press and release the Reset Button on the back of the TT
4 - Wait for the Palm Powered logo to appear on the screen and then release the Power Button
5 - When the warning message about erasing all your data appears, press Up on your D-Pad ring. This will complete your hard reset and take you to the Digitizer Screen.
I hope that solves your screen problems. Good luck!

Thanks everyone for the info :)
It seems like it helped the problem a little, but I still get no response from the screen when the TT is closed somtimes.....Im going to go and exchange it.
Thanks again.
Also, I'm looking for a program for my TT that will help me stay within my monthly budget. Are there any free ones that you recommend?

For free budgeting software, turn on your pop-up stopping utility (because this site has a lot of pop-ups), go to www.freewarepalm.com and click on "Financial" listed under "Category" on the left. Then click on the subdirectory "Money Management." You should be able to find an application that meets your needs among the 23 listed.

Well, looks like I'll be exchanging my TT as well.
Hopefully this was a relatively isolated incident and I won't have the same problem with my next one.
If I do run into more problems, I may just return it outright and opt for a different PDA altogether
:(
Thanks to all those that posted suggestions!

I ordered a new TT and everything works PERFECTLY now.
This time, for some reason I recieved an international version with an option to switch languages on the palm. Also, the charger came with various adapters that fit foreign outlets. :)
I travel a lot so this is definitely a plus for me......
Thanks for the info Old Blue:D
