"a" onscreen keyboard

Anyone else run into this?

My 760 had a fatal error the other day, producing the need for a hard reset.

I downloaded and reinstalled the Sony patch to allow the "a" onscreen keyboard to work, reset as required, but when I try to activate this keyboard, all I hear is a beep, and the keyboard does not work. (This is, of course, the "virtual" keyboard on the display screen of the 760.)

Any ideas what could be wrong, or what I need to do to return this feature to my Sony?
