Hi pocket people.

I am unable to see any Asian language (particularly Chinese) characters in Internet Explorer. I have several Unicode fonts installed, and I can input & view them in PWord & PExcel. But they only come up as squares in PIE. It seems to make no difference when I set the character set to UTF-8.

I have used a registry editor to change the font settings in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/Mime/Database. This works in the desktop MSIE, but nothing seems able to change the font used by PIE. FYI Cyrrillic (Russian) & Greek Unicode characters are displayed correctly, but I think these are coming from the Tahoma font and not the newly installed fuller Unicode fonts. I think PIE just uses Tahoma & Courier no matter what I inflict on the registry.

I have been using test pages like http://www.columbia.edu/kermit/utf8.html.
