Was wondering if either the Psion 10/100Mb LanGlobal CardBus Gold Card or the Psion 56K 10/100Mb CardBus Gold Card UK can be used in my netbook of which I am located in the U.S.? Many thanks

As far as I know, none of the "CardBus" versions of Psion Gold Cards is compatible with the netBook.

Julie is correct, CardBus models require a 32 bit PCMCIA slot; netBook has only a 16 bit (PC Card) slot. Go for a model that doesn't quote CardBus and you should be fine.

I finally received my 10Mb Psion Dacom "Gold Card netglobal" from Expansys. However so far it does not seem to be working. The link light turns on, but the data light doesn't really flash.

Has anyone else got this card to work? It's just 10MBit, no modem/fax. Starting to think my netBook pcmcia slot is duff, as couldn't get the lucent silver card to quite work either. Grrr. At least the card was only £20.

cheers,
John

And that's what's printed on my bright shiny new card from Expansys!

Bother.

Just thought I'd mention that the Ethernt only card does not work. I eventually managed to track down that information.
I sent my card back to Expansys and got the 56K/Ethernt card which works beatifully. Finally my netBook is properly networkable!

I've just spoken to Expansys, and someone looked at the Swedish CombineIT cards and confirmed it does indeed say "CardBus".

So I cancelled the German CombineIT card that was holding up my order. I should recieve the Dacom 56K+10Mb card tomorrow, and will report if it works in my 7book (model 756). I will be posting to the following thread:

Fingers crossed that I managed to convince the girl on the phone that they should update their website to indicate these CombineIT cards are CardBus...
