Palm 505 white screens when attempting to hotsync. Have tried hotsyncing from Palm itself. Soft reset is required to recapture applications after attempting to sync. Warm reset (resetting with Palm in cradle) does nothing to aleviate situation. Also getting fatal alerts on several applications. Unable to delete these applications. When doing a soft reset, Palm symbol flashes and a hard reset is necessary to stop the flashing. Even after doing hard reset, Palm is will not sync and reset only cleared data in basic Palm apps. Third party apps were not deleted during hard reset. Any suggestions?

Are you using any apps that use or load apps into FLASH ROM such as FlashPRo or JackFlash?
Have you owned this Palm since new?
It sounds like a corrupted FLASH ROM.
Do you have a TORX 5 and or 6 screwdriver? If yes open the case and disconnect the battery. Leave it disconnected for 24 ours.
Reconnect and see what happens. If the FLASH is corrupted the problem will reappear. If all works try your hot sync with minimum data. That is rename your backup folder and just let the five Palm built-in apps sync.
No screw driver, try letting it drain the battery. It is less desirable as it can result in so depletion of the battery's ability to hold a good charge.

Yes, Flash Pro is on Palm, but I am unable to delete it. Unable to delete any application when I do a hard reset just data in date book and address book. Attempting to drain down the battery now. Thanks for your response.

I thought that was your problem. Here is how you get rid of FlashPro.

On Palms that have FlashPro (a third-party enhancement that provides user-access to free Flash memory) it is possible that moving a corrupted application into Flash will prevent the unit from responding to any of the three normal resets.

The makers of FlashPro have provided for an additional reset procedure that will reformat your Flash memory.

FlashPro Reset
Never perform a FlashPro reset unless a hard reset does not solve your problem.

To do a FlashPro reset:
1. Hold down the memo/note button on the front panel of the handheld.
2. While holding down the memo/note button, use the reset tip tool (or similar object without a sharp tip), to gently press the reset button inside the hole on the back panel of your handheld.
3. Release the reset button.
4. When the logo screen appears on the screen, release the memo/note button.
5. When the 'FlashPro' message 'Hit the ToDo button to reformat flash' appears on the handheld, press the ToDo button on the front panel of the handheld to perform the reformat.
