I need to be able to communicate with other computers/devices across the USB port on my PocketPC, but those devices are not necessarily going to have ActiveSync installed - in fact they may not even be running any variety of Windows.

Therefore I would like to hear any ideas on how this is possible... any APIs I would need, what protocols would be necessary (is USB On-the-go support generally available?), any links to software (free or otherwise) or information, etc.

Any comments appreciated, as I'm not sure where to start looking on this one; it seems like most people rely on the Microsoft ActiveSync functionality.

I'm not sure if this will help, but take a look at this software.

Hmm... it might be useful, thanks. The software itself won't be but maybe we can license some of the code.

Still eager to hear any other ideas though! :)
