Help !!! Blank screen on psion 3a

My psion 3a came up with a blank screen. You can still hear error bleeps when you press wrong buttons which means there is power. Also adjuting the contrast had no effect.
Can anyone tell me what is wrong and what can I do

You may have a hung application in the foreground - try pressing Control-Psion-Shift-K to see if that clears it.

Warning: Do not use this keypress twice in succession as it could cause the psion to go into a "soak test", a diagnostic mode for Psion or other technicians.

Thanks , but this did not work. How can I do a hard reset? .I have lost the manual.
I have removed all batteries for over 24 hours. I thought this will be a common problem to solve, but it seems to be strange to the experts here.
Somebody pls help !!!

If you have had both the main and backup batteries out then the machine has already been "hard reset".

For the screen to remain blank now indicates a hardware fault (probably failure of the screen cable) which will require repair of the 3a.

This happened to my Psion 3a. I ended up buying another one on e-bay which had a small memory so was cheap and swapped the insides over. It might be worth you finding my thread that I posted on here about it, as some helpful people posted some websites that instructed how to do it yourself. It might even be worth taking yours apart and wiggling the connections inside to see if something has come loose, first.

(Also, just to answer your earlier question, I think you do a 'soft' reset by putting a pin in that little hole, top left, and then turning on; and a 'hard' reset is by holding down shift, putting the pin in the hole, and turning on; but I might be wrong as it is from memory!)
