NEW Zire COMING?

I hear thru the Grapevine that a new Zire is coming, it will have a color screen, run Palm OS 5.2 with Graffiti2/JOT also a built in integrated Camera with 640x480 resolution and a TI OMAP ARM processor and will retail out for about $300, not sure about expandability yet ;)

actually, it very well could be a zire. When Palm announced the Zire and Tungsten brands, it said that the Tungsten would be aimed at professionals and corporate customers and the Zire would be aimed at consumers, not just beginners.

Where did you get this info? I just looked on PalmInfoCenter.com and didn't see anything but a rumor. No detailed specs like you give.

Ran into a Staples yesterday, they had the Z71 on the counter and ran through the features. It had just come in on Friday the 18th. Camera looks good, works like any other digital, the joy stick appears functional the price on the second day, $299.00. Didn't buy it, yet. Went home and found absolutely nothing about it on the web, until today. Called Staples back and asked for more detail...they proudly announced there was none yet, it was too new. This is a nice machine and is changing my mind about my update plans. Processor, RAM, camera, either storage media, and price...if it had a phone and coverage, it might be perfect. Needs a hard case, though......
