Now I have a 7book i would like to connect to my network at work. I am therefore looking for a 'cost effective' card to enable me to do this.
I am aware that certain lists have been prepared for cards which work with the 'old' netbook, does anyone know if they will work with my hybrid?
Also I don't wish to spend a fortune on a card ( I already have a Dacom modem and a travel modem ) so only need a card which will connect to the network.
Any help and ideas on cost and location of vendors would be happily recieved!

Personally, I would keep an eye on eBay - generally a good bet in my opinion when looking for such an item on a limited budget.

noted.
But which models work in the netbook?
I'll be updating my website massively soon (hopefully over the weekend) to include a list of supported cards. Of course, this list is not guaranteed to work on 7Book, given the possibility of lower current capacity. I'd guess that the wireless cards will be more sketchy, and I seem to recall that Psion's Dacom cards have higher power requirements than the CombineIT cards, thus a wired CombineIT is my suggestion.

Once I've got my 7book installed with all my applications again (read: after the weekend here), my IS department has volunteered to let me try a number of wireless and wired cards they have to see if I can find any compatible ones.
Otherwise, you are restricted to the list in the Ethernet settings dialog from the control panel, and as Diem points out, a subset of this list is likely for 7book users.
After my 7book experience part of me is wondering if you can flash upgrade a Psion Gold Card modem to become a combined modem & Lan card plus obtaining a suitable cable :) (I know the cable fits already)

P.S. I'm trying to turn my VW Beetle into a Porsche 911 using the same principles :D

as far as i know, only the CombineIT range are flash-programmable.

I've also upgraded my Psion 7, and I can confirm that the Psion Dacom Gold Card 56k+fax/10Mb Ethernet works like a charm. Connected to the LAN (which has an ADSL link to the Internet), I get download speeds of 80-90kB/s. It's marvellous.
To Jezza: The combined modem/LAN card has two connectors, so you'll need more than a flash upgrade :(
Take care,
