Beginner needs help on simplest things !??

I purchased a jornada 568 some months ago and now that I'm used to using it, I wanted to enhance it with some of the freeware available. Unfortunately, all the downloads assume a modicum of knowledge that I seem to be missing and the help file on the device is useless !!

Can anyone assist me with a PocketPC for dummies or at least tell me how I install new applications?
