Just thought I'd see if anyone has run across good software (especially freeware) for their MobilePro. If you know where to download, please post the link, or at least the link to the site, and the version MobilePro where the software is installed. May want to include size, and how well it runs on your machine, too.

Here's a few "standards" that are a little difficult to find:
AOL Instant Messenger (http://www.br.aol.com/aim/aim_wince/index.adp)
The site is in Spanish, but just click on the "Download do AIM para Windows CE" and do the install. Mine installed in English.

CE Explore NewsReader (http://www.ce-xplore.com/dload.php)
I'm not sure how well it works, as I just downloaded it. But, I'll get back to you!

uBook Book Reader (http://www.gowerpoint.com/uBook_down_nf.html)
Again, I just found this one, but I'll try to let y'all know how it works!

I'll try to post some more good stuff later on-

Have a great weekend, all!

i'd like to know if there is a good Doom executable for the MP. I tried two different ones so far and the grfx are scrambled. The sound is working( and in fact for a pda sounds real good) but the grfx problem makes it unuseable.

MP_nino,

I found this site today. haven't tried it yet, because I don't have the space on my HPC (need a CF card). Give it a shot--they have Quake & Doom for HPC!!!

Good luck!

Doom and Quake?! Thats the one thing i miss about my old e310. It played quake as good as a desktop comp! However this MobilePro is starting to prove to be a good replacement for it and my Trusty old Powerbook 540c (aka the Blackbird series). Nec made a good descision to bring these formibible handhelds back.

ok i tried the site and while it looks like both Doom and Quake versions are a good start, their Quake still needs some polishing done. Its choppy and has no sound. DoomHPC needs to take an idea from their Quake Port and have a Launcher program that lets you set certain settings. At the moment the version of HPCDoom still has the MP770 grfx problem. Quake launcher has a setting for Mp770s so they need to make a Doom Launcher. Hopefully someone will fix the MP770 problem with Doom. Once i get a card reader i could try my TNT.wad from my Mac to see if it has the Grfx problem. It could just be my Wad file.
