Just ordered a new BE300 based on all the good comments by everyone.
I see that Casio is offering the CE.NET upgrade for $24.99. Being that there are so many shells like XPOD, EPODXP do I need the CE.NET upgrade or do these sheels already have the upgrades in them?
Is there a danger in using any of these shells?
Does START MENU 4.1 do the same things these shells are doing?
If anyone can shed some light on any of this I would truly appreciate it.
Thanks.

http://www.groom-family.com/forum/
is the place for information - lots of guys willing to help.
I use start menu - have tried kcmenu but like start much better personally. The pods are supposed to be great but have been through so many transitions that you have to be tinkering all the time :-) Start menu does what I want and I don't have to mess with it, however will probably try pod one of these days.
http://welcome.to/be300 and click on software. In the right column there are a number of sites with software.
The casio upgrade is basically worthless from what I've heard.
You need to know that casio hamstrung the wince with it's gui and this is why the other gui's have come around. Most wince software won't work on the BE but there is a lot available.
You can do a search on the site and see what you think. Most of us are quite pleased with our BE's even though Casio mislead many of us with their lack of information.

DO NOT get the CE-Net upgrade. It cost you money and only offers an upgrade of Windows Media player, and I think Internet Explorer.
Get xPod, this is what I use, and it's just like the desktop of the PC you're using now. And unless you want to make a dontaion, it's totally free.

I have never used Pod, doesn't it come with net explorer and player, or else seems they worked on pod so really no reason to get the upgrade.
On the board there were a bare few ordered it and all said it was a waste of money.
Like I said before I use start menu and for what I do it is just perfect. Want to try pod one day just to see how it works - hear great reports on it.
Have seen couple say you might want to mess with the casio interface for awhile before installing pod if you don't have tinker experience :-)
