Hi,
Last year I recieved the palm V11X from a friend for my birthday. I left the country shortly after where I broke the screen by dropping it in the first week!!! Urgghhhhh!! Just got back into the country. What are my options? Is it worth getting fixed. It is on the bulky side - my husband uses the palm V and its nice and small. I dont use the web feature at all.

Should i just sell it to some of the ppl who seem to be interested in buying these?

Please help
Thanks

You can pay to have the screen repaired, or do it your self if so inclined. Either way expect to spend more on the screen repair than the cost of a new or slightly used Palm VIIIx. They sell for anywhere from $65 to $85. Repairs from $40 for the glass top "Digitizer" of more if you can find one for the two pieces. If the glass is cracked but you can see the image when turned on the screen is OK but the digitizer is shot.

If you are not using the "web feature" I think you would be wise to spend you money on a newer, and if to your liking smaller palm. To have the Web access on the Palm VIIIx is about $20 per month.
New Palm Vx units bring a premium and sell in the $125 to $145 range. There are also New IBM C3 units about and they are very much a Vx simply Black in color and branded IBM. They sell generally for $120.
Palm 505 refurbs run $160. $200 new. Palm 515 units About $310 new. If you need help hunting for a newer unit email me, I’ll be glad to give you some reliable sources.
