i know i am nutz, but i can't understand why the MobilePro Series is not more popular and more widely sought after. I have had one for several years and I love it! I know this is contradictory but I have been trying to sell mine for what i think is a reasonable price but never have any takers because it sells for so much less on ebay. I love my mobilepro 800 but i just don't need it as each time my older kids graduated from college we bought back the laptops or pc's we bought them for use while they were in college.
But the unit with its built in 56k modem and all the other features, ie: the 9.4" diagonal color display with800 x 600 resolution• Pleasingly portable—2.5 lb. and1.0" thin• Instant-on productivity station for e-mail, document creation, PIM• One of the largest keyboards on an H/PC• 32MB RAM for maximized storage• USB port for easy connection of peripherals, a 56K internal modem, infared port, compact flash type II slot, a pcmcia slot for pc cards, is so light weight and user friendly and I can't understand how it is not the rave of the computing communities.
Just my thoughts. Please don't flame.

Just out of curiosity, how much were you trying to get out of it? I sold about 4 MobilePro 780s for $249 - $299 in the past few months. The 7XX series seems to do better than the 8XX series just because you can get a full-featured laptop in the same or similar dimensions as the 8XX series (Toshiba Portege, Libretto, Sony Vaio), whereas the 7XX series "seems" much smaller. If you can make the 8XX look small, by putting it next to a laptop in your pics, you may sell it for more. Also, put references to as many Jornada models and the Intermec 6651 somewhere in your ad. That way, when people search for a Jornada 690, yours will come up, too. I think that's why I got $50-$100 more than the other folks who were selling 780s.

If it's in decent shape, you should still be able to get at least $200 - $250 out of it.

Good luck!

Thanks for your suggestions.

It is in pristine shape. i have taken great care of it and have priced it at $249.99 which had included a 3 yr extra warranty, which i think expires next month finally. oh well.

again, thanks for your response

I know how you feel! I've been using a MobilePro for years and have yet to figure out where all of the MobilePro owners hangout. You would figure that with all of the MobilePro units sold by NEC and all of the ones bought and sold on Ebay, that MobilePro users would be very active on all of the forums/boards available to them. Oh - well it still a great HPC and hopefully will be for years to come.

John
