I am a new owner of the Tungsten T (long time Palm owner/many varieties). I also own a Sony Ericsson T68i phone. I am haveing trouble in getting the "Dialer" to perform. i receive the error "unable to dial" Please install Connectivity software as described in your documentation. I have spoken to Palm itself without success. Both the phone and Palm have been setup to recognize each other. Any suggestions??

Did you install the Connectivity software as described in your documentation? Not to be rude (overtly, at least), but did you read the documentation? You'd be surprised at how many things are plainly in front of us on that box-filler they call "brochures". But don't worry, I'm guilty of it too, sometimes.

Anyway, if you've done all this, did you use the "Phone Link" application to get your devices together? Do you have the latest phone drivers downloaded from the Palm website? Did you download the get-your-phone-and-Palm-talking-together video from the site?

Hope some of this helps you get to Palm + phone happiness. I have this same combination and I'm as pleased as punch. (Or really, really happy.)

Happy,

Yes I downloaded the updated "Dialer" and all info in file and "PhoneLink" and updated versions. My phone is shown in the phone setup, as is my carrier, AT&T Wireless. It also connects. All this done per the instructions of Palm.com. Nothing is labeled "phone connectivity software" per se. I have been assigned a case number by my verbal conversation with Palm and am waiting a veteran counselor to call me back. Appearently this is not as easy to solve as you have indicated. Where can I get this "connectivity software"?

HI, I have the same problem of the Dialer program not working. I called Palm and they advise that the Dialer program and RealOne mp3 audio player are in conflict causing this problem. They are supposedly working on a fix and the interim solution is to remove the Realone program. I have chosen to try another dialer program and TTComm looks good so far. You are correct that there is no Mobile Connectivity Software included with the Tungsten T. Hope this helps.

PS: I have no problem using the dialer in the address book. I use Bluetooth connection with my Ericsson T39.

Thank you. I will try another dialer. This has really got me perplexed. I'm usually pretty good with Palm issues. I'm not running a RealPlayer type program. I know I'm just missing something minor. It has surprised me at the lack of knowledge by Palm to solve the problem. Thank you for taking the time to offer some support.

...I meant "Communications" but was thinking "Productivity" when I was typing and got the words all screwed up. (The real question is why was I thinking "Productivity" anyway? Hmmmm...)

So, you're both right, there is no "Connectivity" software, but the "Communications" software has all that "Dialer" and Phone Link" and such.

blush, blush.
