I recently bought in a shop the Allegro Program for hand-writing recognition from Purple Software.
But I never could install this program on my 5 mx.
After a first step installing the wizard, I get the message : "Psi Setup – Choose Installation Control File". So I choose "allegro.ctl" on disk a:\ (the only one available) but I always receive the same message : “Internal error (-4:0)” ? The diskette (A) was the original one provided by the supplier for installing the program.
So it is impossible for me to go further and to install and to use this Allegro program on my 5mx.
Impossible to contact Puple Software by internet for having from them some help. No answer also to my letter.
Could somebody help me for solving in this problem ?
Many Thanks.
Peter.

I believe that Purple Software may have ceased trading.

The .CTL Control File should actually be a plain text file which shows the paths for installation of the other files. You should be able to use the details in the .CTL file to create any necessary folders and then copy the other files across to the correct locations.

The main path is probably \System\Apps\Allegro\ on either "C" or "D" drive.

Hello Peter,

I remember this happening to me. Unfortunately, I don't remember exactly what I did to remedy the problem.

I think that I put the disk in the drive, ran the PsiWin installer and then selected the ctl file. I may have copied the floppy disk contents to the hard drive first, but I don't remember.

Good luck,
